TotallyAwesome (which means SuperAwesome Asia Limited, whose registered offices are at 20/F Central Tower, 28 Queen’s Road, Central, Hong Kong and its affiliate companies, (collectively referred to herein as "TotallyAwesome," "us" or "we") is committed to protecting your privacy and treating your personal information in accordance with all applicable privacy laws and regulations. This privacy policy explains how personal information obtained through the TotallyAwesome Squad Website website located at (“the TAS Website”) will be handled by TotallyAwesome. This privacy policy applies to the TAS Website only. It does not apply to any other TotallyAwesome websites nor any third-party sites or services which the TAS Website might link to as they will have their own privacy policies.

The TAS Website enables children to participate in the TAS challenge (see TAS T&Cs), submit their content and be entertained with content from TotallyAwesome and other children. The TAS Website is provided by TotallyAwesome and its services are designed specifically to power kidsafe digital content services. TotallyAwesome is committed to keeping your data private and complying with with all applicable privacy laws and regulations. We do this by not asking for more data than is necessary for our service to operate effectively and asking for verifiable parental consent when and where appropriate. TotallyAwesome acts as Data Processor and may be processing data in the European Union.

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will post them here and updated the effective date above. If we make material changes to the way we handle personal information previously collected from children, we will first notify and obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian.

What information do we collect & for what purpose?

We don't collect personal information from children without a valid reason necessary to the activities we provide through the TAS Website. When you visit the TAS Website we do collect non-personal information using cookies, as explained further below.

Registration is not required to navigate the TAS Website, but it is required to use certain features of the site, including the ability to participate in the TAS challenge and watch other participants’ submissions. The type of information we may ask from you when you register includes:

- email address
- gender
- first name
- last name
- birthday
- mailing address

We only collect such information once we have obtained appropriate consent from the parent or guardian. We urge parents to regularly monitor and supervise their children's online activities.

This information is collected to enable various functions such as:

- To create a unique account profile (for personalisation, participation in the TAS challenge, leaderboards etc.)
- To notify/obtain consent from parents; to give access to parental controls
- For password reset purposes
- To enable the posting of prizes
- And other functionalities on the site

Further, if you email us to ask a query on you will be providing your information to us for correspondence with us on such issues.

What do we do with the data?

We use the information we collect about you to enable the features described above, and to answer your enquiries in relation to our website, products or anything else. We do not share this information with any independent third parties for their own marketing purposes. Non personally identifiable information such as device type, browser type, etc, may be shared with third party vendors who perform technical services on our behalf, such as the tracking of analytics and performance-monitoring of our services.

Some areas of the TAS Website offer social features such as the use of leaderboards. Leaderboards only store the username of the child and display it in the order of their current ranking. This username does not enable other users to contact them or identify them in any other way.

When we run surveys or competitions which you can choose to participate in, we use your information to verify your identity and contact you with any aspect of the competition or surveys (for example, in the event you are a competition winner or we need further details regarding your entries).

We will not use your personal information for marketing to you about TotallyAwesome products/information or any other third party products/information unless you have given us your consent to do so. If you have already consented to TotallyAwesome sending you marketing information on TotallyAwesome products/information and you now no longer wish to receive such communications, please use the contact details below to let us know and we will take you off our database.

The TAS Website may contain third-party advertisement that is clearly indicated and separated from the rest of our content. We ensure the advertising is fully appropriate and in conformance with all applicable laws and regulations.

What types of parental controls do we offer parents?

The TAS Website uses a parent portal, available at, which makes it easy to find out about the child safety practices that apply to the TAS Website, and enables parents to allow or disallow the collection of data from any of our services in one central place. More information can be found directly on the portal.

On the portal, parents can:

- access and manage their child's account data
- allow the collection or use of their child’s personal information
- discontinue further collection or use of the their child’s personal information

Where does your data go?

The information you provide to us is stored within Australia and the European Union. In exceptional circumstances this data may be transferred to countries outside the above territories. By way of example, this may happen when any of our servers are backed up by our hosting provider to another location in the case of an outage, for example. These countries may not have similar data protection laws to Australia and the European Union. If we transfer your information outside these territories in this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

Other than the disclosures referred to in this policy, we will not disclose any personal information without your permission unless we are legally entitled or obligated to do so (for example, if required to do so by Court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

How do we keep your data secure?

We take the security of your data seriously. We have put in place many electronic safeguards such as firewall-protected servers, encryption for credit card data and passwords, login credentials for account access, etc. We have also put in place some manual safeguards such as limited employee access and confidentiality agreements with employees and contractors.

1. TotallyAwesome's session cookie (ta_user_token) - creates a unique user session to enable basic functionalities of the site, including saving your preferences during a single browser session, and the frequency capping of advertisements (if applicable).

2. Google Analytics tracking cookie (_ga) - is a single cookie that creates a unique user ID per session, and enables aggregated analytics of website traffic and tracking of impressions.

We do not connect cookie IDs to personal information without your specific consent.

From time to time, enhancements to the TAS Website may result in changes to this privacy policy. Please remember to refer back to this privacy policy regularly to review any changes. If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.


We have implemented technology and policies to help safeguard your privacy from unauthorised access and improper use including encrypting your details when they are transmitted from this site to help keep them secure. We will continue to review and update our security measures where appropriate, as new technology becomes available.
